We are currently at an early development stage and the dream of having our own icons is still far away, not only because of how much work we still have to do with the desktop itself, but also because we lack a designer who can help us create a default icon pack.

We are currently at an early development stage and the dream of having our own icons is still far away, not only because of how much work we still have to do with the desktop itself, but also because we lack a designer who can help us create a default icon pack.

That is why we are looking for an icon pack we can use by default in the VasakOS desktop. If you have an icon pack that you think could fit the VasakOS philosophy, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be reviewing every icon pack that is sent to us and will select the one that best fits our needs, and then put it to a vote by the community itself.

How to send your proposal#

If you want to send your icon pack, you can do it in several ways:

Make sure to include a description of your icon pack, a download URL, the licenses that apply and any additional information you think could be useful for our evaluation.

What are we looking for in an icon pack?#

We are looking for an icon pack that is:

  • Coherent: The icons should follow the same aesthetic and design line.
  • Versatile: They should suit different types of applications and desktop environments.
  • High quality: The icons should be visually appealing and well designed.
  • Properly licensed: Make sure the icons you send have a license that allows use and modification.

How will the icon pack be selected?#

Once we have received all the proposals, our team will review each icon pack and select the ones that best fit our needs. Then we will put the selected packs to a vote so the community can pick its favorite.

The vote will take place in our   Telegram group and on our social networks. The winning icon pack will be used as the default pack in the VasakOS desktop until we have one of our own.
